New TV formats from Cannes: non-scripted formats overview

51st edition of international audiovisual content market MIPTV took place in Cannes last month. The two-day conference MIPFormats held on April 5-6 in the course of MIPTV with screenings of the debut formats as well as the most successful ones was one of the key events. The following are some of the most interesting new formats presented in Cannes.

Ukrainian scripted format The Sniffer produced by FILM.UA has been sold to French TV channel TF1. The Sniffer successfully premiered in Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Israel, Kazakhstan and the Baltic states. OTT video service Megogo.net has launched new online cinema for children Kids.megogo.net. Сhild psychologists and pediatricians were involved in creating the concept of Kids.megogo.net.

On March 3rd Russian film company Bazelevs started shooting lyrical comedy YOLKI 1914 – the fourth film of the New Year’s slate franchise. It is planned to be released on December 25th 2014. The film is produced by Timur Bekmambetov. At the same time Bazelevs has launched a sequel of the comedy Gorko! The project is in preproduction. Theatrical release is planned for October 23rd 2014. TV channel Ukraine is working on season two of the family design make-over show OURS IN 100 HOURS.
