On March 3rd Russian film company Bazelevs started shooting lyrical comedy YOLKI 1914 – the fourth film of the New Year’s slate franchise. It is planned to be released on December 25th 2014. The film is produced by Timur Bekmambetov. Film comprises novels directed by Alexandr Kott, Dmitry Kiselov, Yuri Bykov and Alexandr Karpilovskiy. Ivan Urgant and Sergey Svetlakov are to star. The cast also includes Alexandr Golovin, Alexandr Donogarov as well as Anna Khilkevich and Galina Stakhanova.
The film will consist of seven novels telling stories that take place in Russia’s big cities and small towns, in manors of noble families and peasants’ shacks, at the balls and on the battles fields of WWI. The main characters of the new film are the ancestors of the chapters’ from the prequels of the franchise. They have to bring together to cope a serious problem and create a real New Year’s magic.
At the same time Bazelevs has launched a sequel of the comedy Gorko! The project is in preproduction. Timur Bekmambetov is producing. Theatrical release is planned for October 23rd 2014.
Stepfather of Gorko’s main heroine Natasha arranges his own fake funeral to make fools of his business partners whom he owes money. All his family is there to help him. They must convince everybody that he is really dead so his creditors would leave him alone. Rather difficult mission.
Ukrainian TV channel STB launched casting of participants for season five of the talent show X Factor. The show is the local adaptation format The X Factor distributed internationally by UK based FremantleMedia.
TV channel Ukraine is working on season two of the family design make-over show OURS IN 100 HOURS. The project is produced by Tele Pro production company (in-house production company of Ukraine Media Group). Season one received average share 7.43% and average rating 1.02%.
Each episode of OURS IN 100 HOURS is a highly explosive mix of family conflicts and renovation processes. Some people just can’t decorate their apartment the way they want to on their own, and start quarrelling from the very beginning. The hosts of the show and their team of professionals will help to develop a new design and turn it into reality.
