The eighth annual conference "Television as Business" 2017 will be held on September 21 in the course of international media forum KYIV MEDIA WEEK.
The conference will be traditionally opened by the Media Leaders' Summit engaging the leaders of the largest media groups and channels of Ukraine: Alexander Bogutsky (ICTV), Anna Bezlyudnaya (Inter Media Group), Alexander Tkachenko (1+1 Media), Evgen Lyashchenko (Media Group Ukraine), Sergei Sozanovsky (FILM. UA Group), Vlad Riashin (Star Media). The media leaders will share the positive dynamics of the production of their own content and its success on the world market, talk about the most pressing issues of the industry and the ways of their solution, share expert opinion on topical state, industrial and social initiatives in the media sphere. The issues of fighting piracy, financial management, improving the availability of broadcasting and strengthening information security will also be discussed.
The second section of the conference will be devoted to the pressing problems, successes and tendencies of the advertising market. Panel discussion: "The activity of the Ukrainian advertising market, trends and forecasts" this year will be held in an updated format. The panel engaging the leaders of the largest sales houses and advertising agencies delivering their expert opinions will be moderated by the General Director of Publicis Groupe Ukraine, Oleg Popenko. Moreover, within the framework of the section there will be three firsthand reports by the top managers of advertising agencies:
Svetlana Kalinina, Managing Partner of Kwendi Media Audit and Andrey Taranov Partner of Kwendi in its report "TV audience vs Digital audience or just people" will talk about the dynamics of TV and online content consumption against the background of demographic changes in Ukraine, and also how it is possible to compare the combined effect of TV + online video on target groups.
Pavel Tayanovsky, Strategy and Innovation Director, Carat Ukraine, will tell how to "get our TV out of the post-Soviet zombie forest and live happily ever after", using TV's capabilities to form positive assessments, healthy desires and productive behavior of the population.
Mila Krutchenko, Chief Digital Officer Havas Media Ukraine and Alina Rul, Chief Digital Buyer Havas Media Ukraine will find out whether TV and the Internet are competitors or partners. In particular, the following theses will be considered:
• TV audience grows up, and young people prefer the Internet. Key differences in media consumption and different requests for content
• TV and Internet - complementary media. Bimedicine planning will use the strengths and compensate the weak
• cross-media consumption increases, the attention of viewers switches to a smartphone. How to stop resisting and use this to enhance the effect of TV activities
Within the framework of the third section, the success stories of comedy TV projects and news services will be analysed with special focus on main challenges and problems they faced. A separate discussion will be devoted to the development of relations between media groups and the PayTV market. Among the media managers that will share their experience are: Alexei Mustafin, Media Group Ukraine, Vladimir Pavluk, STB, Oksana Sokolova ICTV, Sergei Popov, 1+1 Media, Fedor Grechaninov, StarLightMedia, Yaroslav Pacholchuk, "1 + 1 Media", Denis Vasyanovich, "Torsat", Alexey Gladushevsky, "New Channel", Ivan Bukreev, "NLO TV", Elena Vasilieva, "1 + 1 Media", Alexey Blanar, Disel Studio.
The final section of the conference will see the representatives of the UTA Expert Council and the TIC presentating detailed plans for the reorganization and modification of the evaluation procedure of the National Television Award "Teletriumf".
