KYIV MEDIA WEEK for the first time presents a co-production event, which is unique for the territories of Eastern Europe, Caucasus and CIS countries - KIEV CoProduction Meetings dedicated to the theory and practice of international TV content co-production. KIEV CoProduction Meetings will take place on 11 September 2013 in Kyiv, Ukraine.
International television co-production is becoming a dominant trend in international television and film production industry. Co-production provides the means to pool financial, creative and technical resources from participating parties for the production of the content of various genres. Collaboration of the producers from different countries has the potential of providing fascinating insight into certain topics, development of innovative media forms, entails financial and creative commitments, allows producers to access the new funding mechanisms etc.
Keeping pace with the trends of the international media industry, organizers of KYIV MEDIA WEEK enriched the program with a new unique event - KIEV CoProduction Meetings that will give TV industry professionals an opportunity to present their own projects, share the experience, discuss TV co-production process. And what is the most important – it will allow to find a new partner for the TV project co-production. TV producers and professional associations, TV companies, prodcos, studios and investors from CIS countries, Caucasus and Europe may take part in KIEV CoProduction Meetings. Moreover, during KYIV MEDIA WEEK on September 11-13, potential Co-Producers can arrange their meetings at the premises of Ukrainian Content Market.
"We took the initiative to create the industry event focused on co-production of TV projects, as we feel the need to support the efforts of the producers in finding partners in production of TV series, TV movies, documentaries etc. As you know, co-production in television is very common in Europe and is of great potential for producers. I am sure that KIEV CoProduction Meetings will find a positive response from the media market, will become a new annual platform of our forum and will be a good incentive for the market development in our region", - says Victoria Yarmoshchuk, director of MRM.
