On September 23, in the course of international media forum KYIV MEDIA WEEK, the members of #KinoKraina (#КіноКраїна – aka #FilmCountry) initiative presented their new projects, filmed for the upcoming autumn and winter TV season. The event will take place at FILM.UA studio.
All members of the initiative – StarLightMedia, Inter Media Group, Media Group Ukraine, FILM.UA Group, Star Media, Pro TV, Studio Kvartal 95, and Odessa Film Studio – presented their fresh series and other scripted content.
The program of the event also included panel discussion, dedicated to the results of the initiative’s first year.
During this period #KinoKraina achieved what seemed almost impossible before. The initiative succeeded in uniting the efforts of the largest Ukrainian film and TV prodcos, as well as bringing up to a new level practical cooperation with governmental agencies: one of the most important for Ukrainian media industry draft laws ‘On the State Support of the Cinematography in Ukraine’ # 3081-d is highly promoted by its members.
Between the first and the second readings about 600 amendments to the draft law were considered at the profile committee of the Parliament, which confirms the importance of this document for the industry and the entire country.
During the event on September 23, participants learned about the current status of the draft law. Also, they got acquainted with the international cash rebate practice, which hopefully will be implemented in Ukraine very soon as well.
Especially for this discussion guests from foreign film commissions were invited – they talked about the real effects of cash rebate system implementation, both on film and TV production, as well as on the entire economy of Eastern European countries.
The press and government authorities, representatives of different spheres of media market and related industries, interested NGOs and activists were invited to attend the event.
The event will take place on September 23 at FILM.UA studio (22 Zakrevsky St., Kyiv, Ukraine).
