Anna KATCHKO

Born in Moscow, Russia, Anna Katchko went to High school in Germany Dusseldorf and then graduated with a Master degree from the Faculty of TV and Film at the Sorbonne University in Paris. She completed a film producer's course at the New York Film Academy in New York, completed the European film producer’s workshop European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs (EAVE) in 2008.

Anna is one of the founders of MIFF Business Square, Russia’s national coordinator for EAVE and has also run a program Baltic Bridge East by West (B’EST) in Russia in 2010-2012 - training workshop for the Russian and CIS film producers, supported by Media Mundus Program in Europe. From January 2014 Anna is on the selection committee for the Film Festival KINO. From Russia and beyond, the yearly film event in Geneva and Paris to showcase the films from CIS, Baltics and Georgia.

Since 2009 Anna Katchko is actively working in Kazakhstan as a film producer and consultant. She is the founder of Spotlight: New Kazakh Cinema, aninternational networking event in the frame of Eurasia International Film Festival in Almaty.

Newsmakers (2009) by a Swedish director Anders Banke, Russian-Swedish action film that premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival 2009;

Baikonur (2011) by Veit Helmer, a German-Russian-Kazakhstan co-production;

Myn Bala (2012) by Akan Satayev, a historical epic drama from Kazakhstan entitled, which became the biggest box office success in Kazakhstan

Harmony Lessons(2013) by Kazakh debut director Emir Baigazin (a Kazakh-German-French co-production), a psychological drama, premiered in the main Competition of Berlin International Film Festival 2013 and was awarded with the Silver Bear with main prices at more than 20 festivals including Tribeca Film Festival (USA), 2morrow film festival (Russia), Gässli Film Festival (Switzerland), Kino Festival (Switzerland), Warsaw International Film Festival (Poland), Flanders International Film Festival (Belgium), Seattle International Film Festival (USA), Sakhalin Film Festival (Russia), São Paulo International Film Festival (Brazil), Asia Pacific Screen Awards (Australia), etc.

Adventure (2014) by Nariman Turebayev, Kazakhstan;

Moscow Never Sleeps(2014) by an Irish director Johnny O’Reilly, A Russian-Irish co-production;

Puppet Syndrome (2014)  by Elena Hazanov, a Russian-German-Swiss co-production;

Kalo Pothi(2014)  by a director from Katmandu Min Bahadur Bham, a Tibetan drama.

Anna currently resides between Berlin, Moscow and Almaty.
