On September 19 KYIV MEDIA WEEK will feature a special panel discussion with the participation of leading experts in radio industry; it will be dedicated to the most burning issues of the field.
The panel will be moderated by Ukrainian Radio general producer Dmitry Khorkin. The participants will discuss relevant issues of the field as well as development prospects, both short- and long-term.
In particular, one of the issues will be Ukraine’s switch to digital broadcasting starting from September 1 – and, as aconsequence, freed up frequencies in the upper FM range. Who will compete for them – network stations, local broadcasters, or National Public Broadcaster?
The panel discussion will feature the following speakers: Sergey Kostinsky, member of Ukrainian National Council forTV and Radio Broadcasting; Vladyslav Sevryukov, MP, member of parliamentary committee for freedom of speechand information policy; Ekaterina Myasnikova, head of ‘Radio committee’ and executive director of TV and RadioBroadcasters Independent Association; Bogdan Bolkhovetsk, head of Digital Broadcasters Association; VladimirGoncharevsky, director for development of broadcasting network at Tavr Media; and Nikolay Chernotitsky, boardmember at National Public Broadcaster.
Panel discussion ‘Radio in Ukraine. Challenges and opportunities’ will take place on the third day of KYIV MEDIA WEEK (September 19) from 10:00 until 10:40.
