On March 28 the second stage of the international ideas contest SMALL WORLD. BIG IDEAS 2017 has finished. 10 TV industry experts from the US, the UK, Switzerland, Ukraine and Romania were engaged in the selection of the finalists.
The judging panel choice was made according to the main selection criteria of the contest: innovation, creativity/originality, potential to develop multiple series, potential to travel around the world as a format, potential to become cross-media and multiplatform format.
According to the international expert committee, SMALL WORLD. BIG IDEAS 2017 finalist are:
“We are absolutely thrilled with the range of finalists for the Kyiv Formats contest. It is a fan-damn-tastic selection, not only from Ukraine, but Russia and Israel which made it very difficult for our esteemed panel of judges to shortlist to five. Last year’s winner Come to Bed has just been sold to a US cable network, so here’s hoping we have another big winner like that. Final round of the contest will be held in the course of FORMAT SHOW Spring Edition conference and screening on April 21 in Kyiv, Ukraine.
The contest winner will get a unique opportunity to discover the word of international creative industry with the help of project’s partners – MIPCOM, Small World IFT and IATI. Learn more about the prizes on the official webpage of the contest.
Also, in the course of FORMAT SHOW Spring Edition, special Face-to-Face Meetings session with producers will be held exclusively for the authors of 15 projects, that received high points from the experts and follow in the list right after the finalists. The authors will be notified by the organizers very soon.
