American Film Market, which wrapped up on November 9, was a momentous event for The Stolen Princess, produced by Animagrad and FILM.UA – on November 4, several work-in-progress videos of the animated feature film were premiered. After the screening, the project demonstration rights were sold to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and China, as well as the countries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA region). Also, during the previous content markets, presale deals for The Stolen Princess were signed with South Korea, France and French-speaking countries in Europe and Africa, Poland, Bulgaria, Iran and Israel.
The sales geography of The Stronghold fantasy by production company Kinorob expanded as well: negotiations in America led to the movie’s presale to China. Earlier this year, such agreements were signed with Vietnam, Malaysia and France. Negotiations with Germany and Latin America are ongoing.
Foreign formats also continue to conquer Ukrainian screens – today is the premiere date of 40-episode drama Nytky Doli on Inter TV channel, co-produced by FILM.UA and the channel. It’s a local version of the Korean drama Yuri Gudu (Glass Slippers) from SBS. As the creators of the drama comment, a lot of work has been done to adapt the script to suit Ukrainian reality.
1+1 Production started shooting the 12-episode comedy Dogory Nogamy, an adaptation of the Spanish format Alli Abajo (Down Below) from the catalogue of Atresmedia International Sales. The series will premiere on the Ukrainian TV channel 1+1 in 2017.
Star Media is working on 16-episode detective drama The Mentalist – Russian-Ukrainian adaptation of the Warner Brothers’s series of the same name. Premiere is expected in 2017: in Russia on Channel One and Channel Che, while in Ukraine – on ICTV.
