Ukrainian Viewers Will Soon See "The Innocent Man" from Korea

Korean formats conquer the Ukrainian market – 1+1 Production started shooting the adaptation of the Korean format The Innocent Man from KBS Global catalogue.

Premiere of 20-episode drama is scheduled for 2017 on 1+1 Channel. Because he was madly in love with a woman, a young man decided to confess a crime he did not commit and was sentenced to prison. During his prison term the woman left him. He decides to plan his revenge. "This is a story about love and betrayal, ambitions and exorbitant price that must be paid. About the choice that is relevant for any modern woman. We’ll witness an incredibly bright love triangle, it rivals the first undying love and a new feeling, which leads to the future. But the answer is not obvious to the characters, and the intensity of emotions in this story is very high", – says Elena Vasilyeva, executive producer of TV shows and movies, 1+1 Channel.

By the way, at KYIV MEDIA WEEK 2016 lots of attention has been paid to Korea and Korean content. During the round table Ukraine and Korea: Opportunities for Cooperation in Media, representatives of Korean trade associations, media companies and state authorities, National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council of of Ukraine and top executives from key Ukrainian broadcasters and prodcos discussed possible ways of cooperation and shared their experience in the field of media, as well as content production and distribution. 

Also, representative of KOCCA – the largest company, which in collaboration with the Government of South Korea supports and unites producers of film and TV content, games and animation series, presented a special screening of Korean formats at FORMAT SHOW conference.

Korea was represented by KOCCA umbrella stand at Ukrainian Content Market as well. The stand brought together 8 companies operating in broadcasting, graphic design, animation, VFX, etc.

Many Ukrainian prodcos are seriously interested in Korean content, and soon we will see more adaptations of our eastern colleagues’ formats on the Ukrainian screens. Follow the news on our website and Facebook.
