Burbank-based producer Mission Control Media has picked up the format Come to Bed from distributor Small World IFT to develop for the US.
The format won SMALL WORLD. BIG IDEAS – a contest for creators and producers with innovative concepts for new non-scripted entertainment formats. The contest is organized by Media Resources Management (KMW organizers), backed by Small World IFT and held every year in the course of international conference and screening FORMAT SHOW Spring Edition.
Format’s author and Israeli TV news anchor Lital Shemesh says: “The format captures what happens in the bedrooms of various couples using hidden cameras. One third of our lives we spend in bed – a place where we start and end our day, where we laugh, we cry, we bond, we discuss, we connect, we fight, we lust, we love”.
The show will take between five and eight couples and follow them in their bedrooms, talking about their day in a fixed-rig style. It’ll be humorous and emotional.
“Normally with the winners of the competition we make a sizzle but with Come to Bed things moved so quickly we skipped that stage and did the deal with Mission Control right away”, – said Small World IFT president Tim Crescenti to C21 Media.
In addition to Come to Bed, Small World IFT also sells the winner of 2015 format contest, called Drive This! (aka Star Races) from Kyiv based prodco Selena Films.
SMALL WORLD. BIG IDEAS contest will search for new original format ideas again in spring 2017. Follow the news and announcements on our website and Facebook.
