Participants of the #KіnoKraina initiative presented their new projects

On Friday, September 23, at the international media forum KYIV MEDIA WEEK 2016, the FILM.UA studio hosted a series of screenings of the new Ukrainian projects submitted by the producers from the #KіnoKraina initiative.

FILM.UA opened the event, as it currently works at near 30 new projects. FILM.UA producers presented the following projects: the third season of The Sniffer detective series, which became "lighter, kinder, peppered with elements of comedy" and expanded geographically; multi-episode drama The Other Life about a girl hiding from her father under the witness protection program; mystical thriller Contact by Mikhail Barkan; sitcom Step Dan, at the end of which the audience erupted with a standing ovation.

The representatives of Studio Kvartal 95 told the audience the news that international online video platform Netflix purchased their series Servant of the People, and then presented a draft of their feature film “Servant of the People 2” about a nameless shy president. This time, the shooting took place in different parts of Ukraine.

The StarLightMedia holding introduced a new series Patsyki, warning the audience about its non-standard humor. The series is a mix of Brigada and Guy Ritchie’s films, which have inspired some of the scenes in the series. It is serious "manly" humor from serious boys. The SLM group also presented their detective series Bad Good Policeman in the classical format of the ICTV channel, and the short film Grain, which can be described in three words – expensive, intriguing, strange.

Inter TV channel presented some TV dramas: The Threads of Fate, an adaptation of a South Korean series Yuri Gudu, and the mystical drama Finding Hope, filmed on the picturesque locations of the Zhytomyr region.

Star Media Production company invited the audience to see excerpts from the romance Eastern Sweets, the project Secrets and Lies in the now-popular Scandinavian noir genre, the animated film The Bandits of Bremen, and the romance Surgery. The Territory of Love.

Media Group Ukraine has brought to the screening the new season of Syshysh Show (with the addition of Bar). The project is evolving into a fully formed sitcom, with addition of new characters and animation.
