Ukrainian Formats Conquer International Markets

Ukrainian company Studio “Kvartal 95” has reached an agreement with the American FOX Studios on the sale of an option to the format of the Ukrainian TV series “The Servant of Nation” to be produced in the United States. This was announced at the opening conference of the sixth international forum KYIV MEDIA WEEK by the art director of “Kvartal” Vladimir Zelensky.

At the moment the deal is at the stage of signing the contract. In the coming year, the series based on the format of “Kvartal 95” will be produced in the US by Imagine prodco. It should be noted that the international distribution of the format is being conducted by the company Eccho Rights, and the series itself has been sold as a readymade product to Estonia and Kazakhstan.

This is not the first case of selling Ukrainian series formats abroad. In particular, the series “Matchmakers” (also produced by “Studio Kvartal 95”) was sold earlier as a format to MTG to be distributed on the territory of Estonia. The detective series “The Sniffer” (produced by FILM.UA) was sold as a format to France’s TF1 channel and the Japanese channel NHK (Japan will soon premiere the local version of the series).
