For the second time, the market leader in commercial satellite telecommunications, providing broadcasting of more than 6,300 television channels globally, will take part in the international media forum KYIV MEDIA WEEK.
Conference PayTV in Ukraine-2016: UP & UP, organized in partnership with Volia will take place on September 21 in the course of KYIV MEDIA WEEK. During the conference, KMW’s Partner and Europe's leading satellite operator EUTELSAT will hold a special report. Together with one of its key Eastern European partners, EUTELSAT will give a practical case study. Apostolos Triantafyllou, Senior Vice-President of Sales for CE Europe & Eurasia will talk about the possibilities that the company can provide to Ukrainian broadcasters and TV platforms.
“We are delighted to return to Kyiv Media Week as official partner for the second year, – says Apostolos Triantafyllou. –EUTELSAT has been present in the Ukrainian market since 2000 building up solid commercial partnerships and lasting client relations. Following the recent developments our new satellite demonstrates our attention and commitment to the market. We want to be the bridge between content providers and DTH, cable and OTT/IP TV operators. To create an ecosystem where content find their distribution solutions. I would like to thank the organisers for their support and efforts to welcome us again to the event. The number and level of its participants is representative of their dynamism and the potential we are looking for. The variety and quality of its visitors demonstrates the degree of perception and appreciation it bares to the professional community. We would certainly not miss it”
EUTELSAT 9B is a high-capacity Ku-band satellite, launched into geosynchronous transfer orbit in January 2016. Overall capacity is 66 transponders, the satellite operates on the 9° East position that sits at the crossroads of Europe’s leading video neighbourhoods. Today, more than 300 TV channels (100 of which – in HD) broadcast from this position, 14 million households receive a signal from EUTELSAT 9B. The satellite addresses high-growth broadcast markets through one pan-European footprint delivering wide coverage and five regional footprints. This regional footprint model enables pay-TV platforms and national DTT programmes to efficiently address linguistic markets. Installation of additional LNB allows parallel leverage reception from the HOT BIRD neighbourhood, which significantly increases the number of available TV channels in these areas.
EUTELSAT is proud of its technological developments, which helped to create a special beam solely for Ukrainian market.
Now, more than 6,300 channels are broadcast through 39 EUTELSAT satellites. Among the customers around the world there are broadcasters, associations, pay-TV operators, video and data transmission providers, Internet providers, as well as institutions and government agencies. To date, a signal transmitted through them is received by 274 million households in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, as well as in large parts of Asia and the Americas.
Besides the presentation during PayTV in Ukraine-2016: UP & UP conference, EUTELSAT representatives will take an active part in other events in the course of the international media forum KYIV MEDIA WEEK 2016.
