FORMAT SHOW 2016 Programme Announced

Only a few weeks are left till the annual conference and screening FORMAT SHOW will open the 6th international media forum KYIV MEDIA WEEK.

FORMAT SHOW will be held on September 19 at Hyatt Regency Kyiv hotel in the course of KMW 2016.

Every time FORMAT SHOW brings the participants’ attention to an extensive line-up of new and the most relevant TV formats of various genres from prodcos and distributors from all over the world (all3media international, ITV Studios Global Entertainment, BBC Worldwide, Global Agency, Televisa Internacional, Red Arrow International, FremantleMedia, Endemol Shine Group, Armoza Formats, VIMN, Eccho Rights, etc.). Also, the conference is full of interesting case studies and the latest data analysis, reflecting the global format industry trends.

And this year is not an exception. So, FORMAT SHOW 2016 program will consist of the following sections:

• Screenings of freshest formats of TV shows and series from around the world, more than 60 premieres are expected.
• Ukrainian formats – the industry status update. Report by MRM (Ukraine)
• Presentation How the global format business is changing (and how you can benefit) by the British C21 Media. The company’s Editorial Director Ed Waller will explore how the international format industry has evolved over the past few years and is still changing, the direction it is heading and what opportunities this is creating for companies trying to get into the industry.
• Panel discussion Format industry powerhouses: creating or following global industry trends? featuring representatives of key international format distributors and creators (speakers list will be announced very soon). Moderator – Ed Waller, Editorial Director, C21Media (UK).
• Special presentation and screening Technologies transforming TV by the British consultancy K7 Media – Knowledge partner of KMW 2016. David Ciaramella, K7 Media Communications Manager will showcase examples of where technology has significantly enhanced the experience on screen; be that through innovative production techniques, real-time user interaction or adding an extra dimension using AR and VR. The session will include case studies from the international marketplace: a must for content makers looking to break new boundaries in programming.
• Special presentation and screening of Korean formats by KOCCA – the largest company, which in collaboration with the Government of South Korea supports and unites producers of film and TV content, games and animation series. 
• International drama trends overview by MRM. Speaker – Artem Vakalyuk, Head of Analytical Department, Media Resources Management (Ukraine).

By the seventh year of its existence, FORMAT SHOW gained a reputation of one of the most popular playgrounds of the Eastern European region, where you can discover all the burning issues and hottest trends of international and Ukrainian format industry. Indeed, the country definitely has something to offer the global market: let’s remember the unprecedented success of the detective series The Sniffer by FILM.UA Group, the format which is now being adapted in Japan. In fact, this is the first time when a Japanese channel NHK started the adaptation of foreign drama. Moreover - it’s the first international adaptation of Ukrainian scripted format as well.

Conference and screening FORMAT SHOW is designed to meet the needs of TV channels and prodcos in fresh and unconventional ideas. Given the high level of industry’s interest, since 2015 FORMAT SHOW is held twice a year: the traditional autumn event in the course of KMW and FORMAT SHOW Spring Edition, which program was supplemented with special educational and practical sections.
