Extra Possibilities for the Most Interesting Entries of SMALL WORLD. BIG IDEAS Contest

The first round of SMALL WORLD. BIG IDEAS contest, organized by MRM in partnership with Small World IFT (USA) and MIPCOM (France), finished last week. Right now the international judging panel is working on the selection of five best projects, that will proceed to the final round of the contest and will be presented by their authors on April 19 at the International conference and screening FORMAT SHOW Spring Edition 2016.

 

SMALL WORLD. BIG IDEAS judging panel features experienced experts of Ukrainian and international TV industry:

  • Tara Gaule – SVP Format Sales and Development, Small World IFT (UK)
  • Elena Kanishevskaya – Producer, Ukraine TV Channel (Ukraine)
  • Victoria Lezina – General Producer, 1+1 Production (Ukraine)
  • Pavlo Dubovyi – Head of Format\Program Development, StarLightMedia Group (Ukraine)
  • Stepan Shevelyuk – Head of Perspective Planning Group, STB TV Channel (Ukraine)
  • Oleksii Goncharenko – Founder & General Producer, Friends Production (Ukraine)
  • Elena Malkova – Producer, FILM.UA Group (Ukraine)
  • Danny Fenton – CEO, Zig Zag Productions (UK)
  • Bertrand Villegas – CCO, The Wit (Switzerland)
  • Victoria Yarmoshchuk – CEO, Media Resources Management (Ukraine) 
  • Nataliia Shtaltovna – Executive Producer, TeenSpirit Studio (Ukraine)

Five finalists will be announced on March 28 on the official webpage of the contest.

It is important to note that on FORMAT SHOW day (April 19) a range of special activities is awaiting for SMALL WORLD. BIG IDEAS contest participants. Alongside with traditional pitching session (during which creators of top-5 ideas will try their fate in front of TV business masterminds and the entire audience of FORMAT SHOW conference), theFace-to-Face Meetings session will be held specially for the authors of 15 projects, that received high points from the experts and follow in the list right after the finalists. During one-hour Face-to-Face Meetings session they will have a series of personal meetings with Ukrainian prodcos and broadcasters as well as with representatives of some foreign companies. Face-to-Face Meetings is one of the innovations of this year’s FORMAT SHOW, which program includes educational sections and special events for newcomers of format industry.

The authors of these 15 projects will be personally notified by the organizers of the contest on March 29 and invited to participate in Face-to-Face Meetings.
