Winter Film Market of Odessa International Film Festival took place in Kyiv on December 14-15. Media Resources Management (KMW organizer) traditionally became its partner and organized two events in the course of the Film Market.

On December 15 a round table "Ukrainian Movies in Ukrainian Cinema Theatres: Mission Impossible?" supported by #KіnoKraina initiative and the Ukrainian State Film Agency took place. The event was highly attended by the representatives of cinemas, distributors, production companies and media.

According to statistics, Ukraine occupies one of the last places in the development of theatrical networks. To overcome this, the round table participants insisted on the production of high-quality Ukrainian films, which will be both interesting to the viewers and profitable to the cinemas.

It was proposed to establish quotas on screening Ukrainian films in exchange for preferential taxation, however, the roundtable experts and participants expressed quite divergent views on this issue and continued discussion after the round table.

The second event co-organized by MRM in the course of the Winter Film Market was master class "Film promotion. Ukrainian experience" by FILM.UA Faculty (joint educational program by MRM and FILM.UA) speaker Polina Tolmacheva, PR and marketing director FILM.UA Group. During the presentation the following questions were raised: promotional campaigns of different movies, trailers and their use, basic tools for film promotion, outdoor advertising, social networks and the word of mouth.

As a result of two-day event it can be said that Ukrainian film business is currently experiencing hard times, it concerns not only production of national cinema, but the issue of its distribution to cinemas as well.

Media Resources Management thoroughly analyses all the processes of Ukrainian film business and facilitates its development by arranging and supporting key industry events.
