Kvartal 95 Wants to Shoot The Bridge Adaptation with Polish Prodcos

Ukrainian production company Studio Kvartal 95 is considering the possibility to shoot its own version of the popular Scandinavian TV series The Bridge. Boris Shefir, Kvartal 95’s co-founder and Editor In Chief, told during the KIEV CoProduction Meetings, held within the framework of the V international mediaforum KYIV MEDIA WEEK. The project may become the co-prodution with Polish colleagues.

The Bridge is an American remake of Swedish/Danish criminal drama entitled Bron/ Broen. Produced by Danish DR1 and Swedish SVT, it first aired in autumn 2011. There are three seasons now – premiere of the latter is set for 27^th of September.

When a body is found on the bridge between Denmark and Sweden, right on the border, Danish inspector Martin Rohde and Swedish Saga Norén have to share jurisdiction and work together to find the killer.

The idea of a murder on the border is used also in US series and UK/French version. So, maybe soon we will see our own remake about a killing somewhere in Carpathians on the line between Ukraine and Poland.
