The list of companies, which are going to participate in Ukrainian Content Market 2012 (UMC) with their own exhibition suites has expanded thanks to the new names. In particular AMEDIA (Russia), Art Pictures Media (Russia), Gala Media and Film International (Russia) и Carmen Film (Russia) will join the UCM old-timers, and in spite of more than six months that are left to the event, they already know where and under which number they will meet the fall. Russian distributor Carmen Film has acquired the license on blu-ray and DVD releases of feature film ‘Elena’ (Russia 2010), directed by Andrei Zvyagintsev, which won the Jury Prize in second-ranking competition program ‘Un Certain Regard’ of the 64th Cannes Film Festival Award. ‘Elena’ was premiered in Russian cinemas on September 29th, 2011. DVD release was held on November 23rd. The French release of ‘Elena’ is planned on March 7th, 2012, and on May 4th, 2012 in the USA. Another DVD-release by Carmen Film was Angelina Nikonova’s ‘The Portrait at Half-lights’ (‘Portret v sumerkakh’, Russia 2011). The cinema premier in Russia was held on November 10th, 2011, DVD release - on December 21st. Also the company has acquired the license on ‘Declaration of War’ (‘La Guerre est déclarée’, directed by Valérie Donzelli, France 2011) DVD release. The drama was selected as the French entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 84th Academy Awards. It was premiered in Russia on November 10th, 2011 (distributed by Caravella DDC). Besides Carmen Film has bought the license on blu-ray and DVD releases of romantic drama ‘Ogni Pritona’ (Russia 2011) directed by Alexander Gordon. The Russian cinema premier was held on November 3rd, DVD release – on December 21st, 2011.
