Ukrainian Format Mystical Tales Travels to Bulgaria

19 March 2015, 12:51

FILM.UA Distribution sold its popular docuseries format Mystical Tales created by FILM.UA Television to Bulgarian TV channel Nova. The local version of the show is produced by the largest Bulgarian prodco Old School Production. A contract has been signed for the first season of the show.

FILM.UA Television producer Elena Malkova commented that producers from Old School Production contacted FILM.UA, inspired by success of the show on the Ukrainian and Russian TV markets. Negotiations about the format began in mid-February and on March 12 the first episode of the show was already aired. Old School Production picked the most suitable stories from the project and recorded commentaries of popular Bulgarian host Marius Donkin.

It’s worth mentioning that it’s not the first international adaptation of Mystical Tales. The format was already adapted in Kazakhstan and Hungary. Brussels based distributor Crazy Cow represents the format in Scandinavia, Benelux, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. This information was disclosed by producers of the docudrama while presenting Mystical Tales showcase at KIEV CoProduction Meetings in the course of KYIV MEDIA WEEK 2014.

Currently FILM.UA Television works on post-production of Mystical Tales season 7, which will be aired this spring.
