International co-production is the most recent trend not only in the international TV and film industry context, but also in Ukrainian one.
This was proven by Work-in-Progress professional section within the framework of Odessa International Film Festival (OIFF, Odessa, Ukraine), where film projects, that are still in production, were presented. Among them: Vagrich and the Black Square (Ukraine – USA), Occupation (Ukraine – Moldova – Romania), The Nest of the Turtledove (Ukraine – Italy), Ugly (Ukraine – Australia), Undefeatable (Ukraine – Russia), Ursus. The Caucasian Brown Bear (Ukraine – Georgia – Germany – Bulgaria), Red Dot (Ukraine – Russia).
Ukrainian producers proceed developing co-production projects. Thus eleven full-length features produced or co-produced by Ukrainian filmmakers where submitted to the Pitching Competition, and what is more important - nine of them were ranked as international co-productions.
It’s worth mentioning that another special event – KIEV CoProduction Meetings, focused on theory and practice of international TV content co-production, will be held in the course of KYIV MEDIA WEEK on September 16, 2014 in Kyiv.
KIEV CoProduction Meetings – is the first content marketplace in Eastern Europe, Caucasus and CIS countries designed for pitching and promotion of TV projects of different formats that look for co-production, as well as to facilitate the co-production market in the region by allowing the local producers to cooperate with international TV projects.
KIEV CoProduction Meetings will be held on September 16, 2014 in Radisson Blu Hotel (Kyiv, Ukraine).
