International CoProduction Expert at Film Business 2014

Film Business: Challenges, Features, Opportunities Conference has been held annually in Kyiv starting from 2008 and became an ultimate meeting point for film industry professionals from all over the world. Meet Anna Katchko -  successful and highly experienced producer that will join the VII Film Business’ edition (September 17, 2014) as a speaker.

Anna is working on German, Russian and Kazakh projects (mostly international co-production) as an independent producer. Anna has a great professional experience, for instance,  her drama Harmony Lessons was awarded with the Silver Bear at BERLINALE 2013 and with main prizes of more than 20 festivals, including Tribeca Film Festival (USA), 2morrow film festival (Russia), Gässli Film Festival (Switzerland), Kino Festival (Switzerland), Warsaw International Film Festival (Poland), Flanders International Film Festival (Belgium), Seattle International Film Festival (USA), Sakhalin Film Festival (Russia), São Paulo International Film Festival (Brazil), Asia Pacific Screen Awards (Australia), etc.

"Film industry professionals’ dialog between different countries is simply necessary today, as it allows to follow rapidly developing trends and to stay competitive. That’s why such events like KYIV MEDIA WEEK, targeted on experience exchange, are very important now. I am glad that thanks to Film Business conference I’ll get an opportunity to know more about today’s film industry situation in Ukraine. I believe, that Ukraine has a great creative potential that one day will be revealed worldwide. As any other producer, I am always searching for new ideas and projects", - Anna Katchko comments.

Anna has  Masters Degree of Sorbonne University (TV and Film Studies). She also completed a film producer's course at the New York Film Academy and the European film producer’s workshop European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs (EAVE).

Anna is one of the founders of MIFF Business Square, Russia’s national coordinator for EAVE and has also run a program B’EST (Baltic Bridge East by West) in Russia in 2010-2012 - training workshop for the Russian and CIS film producers, supported by Media Mundus Program in Europe. From January 2014 Anna is on the selection committee for the Film Festival KINO. From Russia and beyond, the yearly film event in Geneva and Paris to showcase the films from CIS, Baltics and Georgia.

Starting from 2009 Anna Katchko is actively working in Kazakhstan as a film producer and consultant. She is the founder of Spotlight: New Kazakh Cinema, an international networking event in the course of Eurasia International Film Festival in Almaty.

Anna’s filmography includes: Perestroika (Russian-American drama, 2009), Newsmakers (Russian-Swedish action, 2009), Baikonur (German-Russian-Kazakhstan co-production, 2011), Myn Bala (Kazakh drama, 2012), Moscow Never Sleeps (Russian-Irish co-production).
