Sony Pictures Television Russia, subsidiary of international distribution and production company Sony Pictures Television (SPT), and international distributor Dori Media International signed deal according to which SPT’s affiliate acquired the option for production of Russian remake of Dori Media’s crime series New York (50х30ʹ). The drama tells the story of a group of young Israelis living in New York City, who get involved in dealing drugs at the service of the Elcharizi crime family. Yossi Elcharizi, the son of a notorious crime family boss, arrives in New York to escape his past while seeking a new future.
Viacom International Media Networks(VIMN), New York based international distribution branch of Viacom, licensed adaptation rights for reality format Catfish: The TV Show to Ukrainian Novy Channel. The broadcaster plans to launch production of local version in July. Information on the title of Ukrainian remake is not yet disclosed.
Catfish: The TV Show (24х60ʹ) reality show about the truths and lies of online dating. The hosts arrange and mediate the first real life date of the two online lovers. They can hardly predict the reaction of the couple that faces surprising and sometimes even shocking revelations.
Catfish: The TV Show premiered in the US on November 12, 2012, with the third season starting on May 25, 2014. The format is being adapted locally in Germany, the UK, Brazil, Mexico and Russia.
