KYIV MEDIA WEEK provides information support for Summer Film Market at Odessa International Film Festival

Industry events aimed to promote Ukraine internationally and develop media market in the region are actively supported by KYIV MEDIA WEEK. This summer KYIV MEDIA WEEK traditionally provides information support for Ukrainian Film Market that will be held on July 14-17, 2014 in the course of the 5^th Odessa International Film Festival.

“Summer Film Market traditionally will be held in the course of Odessa International Film Festival on July 14-17. Given the situation in Ukraine we changed the format of the event by canceling evening entertaining program and splitting business program into bookers’ days and educational section. Among the Film Market participants are representatives of local movie theatres and cinema chains, Ukrainian film distributors and companies providing equipment and technical services for movie theatres as well as participants from CIS territories and Europe. Workshops, panel discussions as well as presentations of new products will take place during the educational section. Representatives of theatrical industry raise questions on urgent problems and topics they are interested in. For instance, at the Winter Film Market held in December 2013 they expressed their concern about piracy. In response, Film Market’s team launches platform for discussion on the issue and has invited the executives of Anti-Piracy Association of Ukraine. Traditionally the Summer Film Market will take place at multiplex Cinema City in Odessa and KYIV MEDIA WEEK is yet again our information partner, as we like consistency and stability”, - comments Alyona Turlova-Osipenko, the Film Market Director.
