Participation of Indian Film Industry representatives in Kyiv Media Week – it is a great opportunity for Indian content distribution (especially movies, series and documentaries) to the Former Soviet Union Countries, Central and Eastern Europe. On the other hand it is a chance to find potential partners for different projects to develop and to make co-production. The sympathy of the audience from the countries of post-socialist camp to the variety of Indian TV-content and feature films was established historically. People over 30’s still are fond of Indian movies due to their significant presence on Soviet TV as well as on the television of the CIS countries in the 90’s of XX Century. Moreover, modern Indian romcoms and dramas for sure will arise a great interest of female audience of Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and other countries of the region. Since all major TV channels from the listed countries will participate in KYIV MEDIA WEEK, it becomes a perfect playground to network and tie up distribution deals.
Again, most of the biggest production companies from CIS and Eastern Europe will participate in international content market (Ukrainian Content Market) in course of Kyiv Media Week. Accordingly, Indian prodcos representatives will have brilliant chance to discuss coproduction opportunities and pitch ideas of the new projects with Russian, Ukrainian and Kazakhstan production studios. Recently the interest of CIS countries in partnership with Indian colleagues has been inspired with a great success of Hindu series – the coproduction project of Russian company Russian World Studios and Indian partners. Hindu has got very high audience rating on Russia 1 – one of the leading TV channels in Russia. In India it was aired on national TV channel Doordarshan and on digital Zee Smile. Aside from India and Russia, Hindu arose a big interest in the CIS countries – it was already aired in Kazakhstan and Ukraine with pretty high rating as well.
