More than 200 leaders of the television industry gathered at the "Television as Business - 2013" conference

On September 12, 2013 the fifth annual international "Television as Business" conference was held in the course of KYIV MEDIA WEEK. More than 200 Ukrainian and foreign representatives of media industry participated in a conference - the leading specialists of TV channels, research, advertising and media agencies. 

The conference was divided into 4 sections, which included the television advertising, anti-piracy, TV viewing and multimedia topics.

Senior European Leader for the watch side of the Nielsen business, Alain Couttolenc spoke about the global trends of advertising costs. Advertising Analyst of IHS Electronics & Media, Beata Kilkiewicz shared European experience in the field of TV commercials.

Participants of  the "Video on the Internet" panel discussion discussed the development of the video in the Internet legal market within the context "Clear Sky" content partnership. A discussion about the future of TV news was at first time at the "Television as Business" conference.

During the conference, participants learned:

  • Who is the viewer in Ukraine;
  • How could you earn $150 million a year on the multimedia business;
  • Who controls the blue screens and which top managers will be need tomorrow;
  • What is the situation on the world market of television advertising.

The four largest media groups of Ukraine were presented at the Media Leaders’ Summit. Kateryna Kotenko, executive director of the Television Industrial Committee, moderated the discussion.

The participants of the debate on the TV market prospects:

  • Aleksandr Bohutskiy, ICTV, Darector-President;
  • Fyodor Ogarkov, Media Group Ukraine, General Director;
  • Yegor Benkendorf, Inter TV-channel, Chairman of the Board;
  • Oleg Pavlenko, Inter Media Group, Commercial Director;
  • Valeriy Varenitsa, 1+1 media, Commercial Director.

The chairman of The National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council of Ukraine, Vladimir Manzhosov told about the regulation of broadcasting in context of development new converged audiovisual media.

International Forum KYIV MEDIA WEEK was held on September 10-13, 2013 in Kyiv, Ukraine, at the Radisson Blu hotel.
