The newest and the most popular TV formats from more than 20 prodcos and right holders from all over the world will be presented at the international conference and screening of new TV formats Format Show, which will be held on September 14, 2011 in course of KYIV MEDIA WEEK.
Format Show is a unique event for our region’s market – for the first time all the major format prodcos and distributors will come to Kyiv at the same time and present their new product to the CIS region audience, just as we approach two other industry events this autumn.
This time Format Show will not only be in the form of screening, but it will also provide an update on all the hottest market trends straight from the horse's mouth and all in one place: market leaders, apart from presenting new formats, will deliver reports on the most interesting topics of the modern industry. A special report by Avi Armoza, the president of Israeli company Armoza Formats, is expected to be the highlight of the program. In his report, specially prepared for KYIV MEDIA WEEK, Mr.Armoza will talk about how formats cross not only country borders but also the customary borders of genres and spread around numerous media platforms and in this way change the traditional models of TV business.
Furthermore, Nicola Söderlund, the president of Sparks Network, will deliver report entitled ‘World TV Industry. Is there a place for Ukraine in it?’; Axel Böhm from SevenOneInternational will talk about hybrid (cross-genre) formats and give examples from different countries; Tim Crescenti, the president of Small World IFT, will share his experience of searching for formats from untraditional regions and taking them into international market, and will advise on how to use this experience with regard to Ukraine; while Timur Weinstein, general producer of WeiT Media, will help to understand if the adaptations boom in our market is accidental or if it’s a logical result of the market development. And even more: special reports will be delivered by other eminent industry players, like Marina Williams (Endemol), Naomi Koh (Zodiak), Anne Kirsipuu (FremantleMedia).
