News from the Ukrainian Content Market participants: Volia acquires a Western Ukrainian operator; TV channel TET launches "Star smithy 3"; Central Partnership’s “Paranormal Activity 4” gathered 20 million rubles on its debut day on October 19

Telecommunication company Volia, buyer at UCM market, announced the acquisition of pay-TV provider Odeko, which operates in several regions of Ukraine. Over the next year Volia plans to invest in network upgrading and to expand TV content packages providing, among others, channels in HD-quality. As of today Volia is presented on the Ukrainian telecommunications market in 29 cities and over the last year the number of Volia subscribers grew by 12%. The deal was approved by the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine. According to proIT, the amount of transaction could be $ 14 million. Group of companies Odeko is one of the largest providers of cable TV in Ukraine. The company provides services in the field of cable television, Internet and telephone service in Lviv, Ternopil, Chernivtsi, Zaporizhzhya and Volyn regions of Ukraine, serving approximately 180 thousand subscribers.

In November TV channel TET, seller at UCM with its own stand #233, will start broadcasting "Star smithy 3" - a new show in the genre of parody sitcom. TET will put all the stars made at the TV’s “assembly line”, where they belong, will knock out all their arrogance and will show who really deserves the superstar title! Four boys and four girls with completely different characters, as the heroes of the coolest talent show should be, will record their songs, create duets and trios, make real music videos, while competing for the main prize - $ 1 million.

The premiere of the film “Paranormal Activity 4”, distributed by Central Partnership (the seller at UCM with stand# 341), gathered 20 million rubles on its debut day on Thursday, October 19. This is 17% more than the results of the previous part of the franchise. It is the most successful premiere of a movie in the genre of horror not in 3D. “Paranormal Activity 4” is the continuation of the story about unexplained phenomena happening in the house, where the family of the main characters lives, from directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman. Starring Katie Featherston and Kathryn Newton.
