The list of the Film Business conference speakers was extended by Russian and Ukrainian film industry players

Russian and Ukrainian film industry professionals have expanded the list of the V international conference Film Business. The panel discussion “Co-production as a profitable venture - reality or fiction?” will present the reports of the leading media experts, including  Ekaterina Mcituridze a CEO Roskino (Russia), Oleg Kokhan a chief producer at SOTA Cinema Group (Ukraine),  Elena Fitisova producer, director, scriptwriter and founder of Studio Interfilm (Ukraine), and Michael Schlicht  president of Monumental Pictures (Russia). This workshop will see all the aspects and stages of coproduction covering following issues: funding, producing, marketing and the cross-cultural question.

Anna Krutova VP and producer at CTB Film Company (Russia) and Igor Savichenko Pronto Film producer (Ukraine) have joined section participants. Besides the latter will present the special report “The development of film education in Russia and Ukraine” during the workshop “Co-production as a profitable venture - reality or fiction?”.

Igor Savichenko comments: “The problem of the film business in Ukraine lies in fragmentation. However such forums like KYIV MEDIA WEEK are the most effective and productive events for information exchange and another opportunity to share your experience. Long years of depression in the local film industry led to the lack of scriptwriters, directors and producers. Earlier it was beyond the question that we have a lot of competent operators. But now looking at full length films produced in 2012 we have to admit that actually there are not so many professionals in Ukraine. Cinematographers don’t have to work separately on the contrary they have to gather, interact, share their experience, influence state’s policy and  bring up new experts who could really improve the present situation in 2-3 years”.
