Ukrainian Creative Europe Forum 2017 – a special event that was held in the course of KYIV MEDIA WEEK 2017 and organized by Ukrainian Motion Picture Association with the support of the Ukrainian State Film Agency and with the participation of the National Council of Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine and the National Bureau of the EU Programme "Creative Europe" in Ukraine.
The forum was dedicated to the process of Ukraine’s integration into the European media market, the development of partnership between Ukraine and the European Union countries in the sphere of creative industries. It was organized to present to the participants of the Ukrainian media market the opportunities provided by the "Creative Europe" programme, as well as to establish a dialogue between state authorities and representatives of creative community to develop an algorithm of actions needed for Ukraine’s full membership in the programme.

"Creative Europe" is a programme of the European Union aimed at supporting the cultural, creative and audiovisual sectors. "Creative Europe" consists of the Culture and Media sub-programmes, as well as the intersectoral direction. |
Media sub-programme provides financial support for projects for the production, distribution and promotion of film and audiovisual products; it provides entry of full-length feature films, animated films, television series, documentaries and new media to new markets, beyond national and European borders.
The financial support for Creative Europe projects ranges between EUR 200,000 and EUR 2 million.
Since 2015, Ukraine has joined the EU programme "Creative Europe" on preferential terms. The participation in Culture sub-programme and access to only a few activities of the Media sub-programme: Training, Festivals, Film Education and Market Access were agreed.
To fully participate and gain access to all the possibilities of the EU's "Creative Europe" support programme, it is necessary to complete the procedure for bringing the national legislation in the audiovisual sphere in line with EU legislation.

the work of the national desks of the "Creative Europe" programme, the specifics of implementing support schemes and demonstrating the results of participation in the Media sub-programme
current situation with Ukraine's participation in the programme, conditions for full membership
• presentation of projects that received financial support under Media sub-programme
• roundtable discussion "Ukraine's full membership in the "Creative Europe" programme: specific steps and industry expectations":
representatives of European delegations, state bodies of Ukraine and leading industry players discussed the vision of Ukraine's membership in the "Creative Europe" programme, obstacles to full participation in the programme and identified the necessary steps to ensure conditions for obtaining full membership
Representatives of Ukrainian creative industries discussed the experience of production and promotion of content with European counterparts, talked about national projects that could claim support for the Media sub-programme, and shared their expectations from Ukraine's participation in the "Creative Europe" programme.
The Ukrainian Forum of the Creative Europe Programme was held on September 20, 2017 at Hyatt Regency Kyiv (Ukraine).
